Lamborghini seized by police after ‘racing cars’ on Glasgow’s M74

A LAMBORGHINI was seized by cops after the driver was caught allegedly racing other drivers on a Scots motorway.

Police[2] claim the supercar driver was racing other motorists along the major stretch of road.

Cops also seized the luxury[3] motor over the alleged offences.

Police Scotland[4]‘s traffic unit shared a photo of the Lamborghini[5] stopped on the hard shoulder of the M74 on social media[6].


The picture of the supercar read: “Racing other vehicles, driver arrested for failing a roadside drugs[7] wipe, vehicle seized under anti-social behaviour legislation.”

They shared that a number of other drivers[8] were charged with alleged traffic offences.

Police say a 17-year-old was arrested and charged on Cumbernauld Road for allegedly failing to stop for cops, dangerous[9] driving[10] and driving under the influence of drugs.

They also claim the youngster was wanted on warrant and was driving with no licence[11] or insurance[12].

The teen was arrested and charged and has been held in custody until they can appear in court[13].

Cops also arrested and charged a 16-year-old in Govan for allegedly drink driving.

The teenager has also been charged with allegedly taking a car without insurance and driving without a licence or insurance.

A 48-year-old man in Paisley was reported and charged with allegedly driving without a license or insurance and had the car seized.

The police post added: “Some folk continue to put others at risk, ignoring our Don’t Risk It advice. They either walk home or end up in a room with no view out of harm’s way.”

Glasgow M8 crash: Two on-duty cops among four rushed to hospital after horror smash

TWO on-duty cops are among four people rushed to hospital following a horror three-vehicle crash on a busy motorway.

The smash scene at junction 13 is causing huge tailbacks on the major route.

It is understood that a vehicle smashed into the barriers during the collision.

Emergency crews[2] are currently in attendance.

Two people were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital[3] and two to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Police Scotland[4] confirmed two of those were on-duty police officers.

A statement from the force said: “The M8 in Glasgow is closed eastbound at J13 following a three-vehicle crash, involving a police vehicle, which happened around 1.10pm on Wednesday, 24 July.

“Emergency services attended and two people were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and two to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

“Two of those were on-duty police officers.

“Local diversions are in place and road users are advised to avoid the area.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service[5] said: “We received a call today at 1312 hours to attend a road traffic collision on the M8.

“We dispatched two rapid response units, a critical care paramedic, three ambulances, our trauma team and our special operations team.

“We transported two patients to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and two patients to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”

Traffic was said to be “very heavy” in the area following the crash.

Pictures from the traffic cameras show four lanes of the carriageway queued back for miles.

In an update on X at 3.30pm, Traffic Scotland said the road remained closed eastbound.

They added: “Emergency services are in attendance.


“Traffic slowing on the approach to the closure.”
