National Express & Stotts Coaches unveil New TEMSA Vehicles
National Express and Stotts Coaches unveil brand-new TEMSA vehicles. National Express and E.Stotts & Sons Ltd have today revealed two brand-new TEMSA HD13 vehicles which will be in service this weekend. The HD13 vehicles are the first TEMSA models on the National Express network and a third vehicle is expected to arrive with Stotts Coaches in March 2026.
The first of the two new Stotts vehicles will depart Bradford at 07:05 on the National Express 561 service to London tomorrow (Saturday 25 October 2025). The second vehicle will be operating on the 131 between Huddersfield and Birmingham. Stotts has worked in partnership with National Express and bus and coach manufacturer TEMSA to adapt the twin axle HD13 specification and optimise the vehicles for current and future use on National Express and Stotts work.
Both vehicles have 53 seats and a dedicated permanent wheelchair space onboard. Ed Rickard, Network Director for National Express, said: "As a valued long-time partner operator, it's been a pleasure to work in partnership with Stotts to adapt these vehicles and ensure that we can deliver the best experience, which our customers have come to know and love when travelling with us.
"It's exciting to have the new TEMSA vehicles launching into service and we all look forward to seeing how they perform on our network." Carl Stott, Director of Stotts Coaches, said: "Stotts are delighted to have been involved in this project with the TEMSA HD13 vehicles and look forward to working alongside National Express to test the new product on the network.
"We think they look great and can't wait to launch them in service on our 131 and 561 routes between Yorkshire, Birmingham and London this weekend." Andy Garratt, Managing Director for TS UK Ltd, said: "It's been great to work with the teams at both Stotts and National Express to enhance our HD13 vehicles and we are thrilled to provide our high-quality coach product for Stotts, its drivers and the passengers on the National Express network.
"By working together, we've introduced a permanent wheelchair space onboard and put careful thought into the use of the wheelchair lift at National Express coach stops, offering a smooth, comfortable and efficient boarding experience for all travelling passengers." Standing at 3.6m tall, 13.1m long and 2.5m wide, the PSVAR compliant TEMSA HD13 vehicles in the Stotts fleet have 11m3 of luggage space and a Euro 6 DAF 6-cylinder 300 kW MX11 engine with up to 527L fuel capacity. Stotts, National Express and TEMSA will be monitoring HD13's performance while in operation, including fuel-efficiency, driver and passenger comfort on the UK's road network.
Alongside all the modern comforts including reclining seats with plenty of legroom, free Wi-Fi and USB charging points, the new vehicles are also kitted out with National Express' unrivalled onboard safety and security technology, including Lytx DriveCam.
Family-run coach firm E.Stott & Sons Ltd's relationship with National Express began in 1993 when it operated duplicate journeys on behalf of the UK's largest scheduled coach operator.
Since 2010 the West Yorkshire based operator has been running daily scheduled routes under the National Express brand.
