Lorry crash blocks major road during rush hour

A major Cambridgeshire[1] road was blocked during rush hour after a crash[2]. All lanes have reopened along the A14 eastbound between junction 20 at Ellington to junction 21 at Brampton Hut on Thursday (October 16). This was after a crash involving two lorries closed the road.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix said the road is now clear. It said: "Traffic easing, accident cleared on A14 Eastbound from J20 (Ellington) to J21 (A1 Brampton Hut). Previous congestion to J18 (Spaldwick)."

Cambridgeshire Police didn't attend the scene, but a police spokesperson confirmed two lorries were involved. The spokesperson said: "We were called at 6.28am to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A14 Eastbound near Brampton Hut. Paramedics attended and two people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Police presence was not required." The East of England Ambulance Service has been contacted for more information.
