Former Minister to Speak at Logistics UK’s Decarbonisation

Former Minister for Transport and Logistics Guy Opperman has been confirmed as a speaker at business group Logistics UK's Delivering Decarbonisation 2025 conference, to discuss the changing political landscape and implications for achieving decarbonisation goals. Taking place in London on 27 November 2025, the conference is a "must attend" event for everyone managing the challenges of decarbonisation and will explore bold ideas, practical solutions and cross-sector collaboration to a low-carbon future. Mr Opperman joins an esteemed line up of expert speakers from industry, trade bodies and government at the conference to discuss the key issues and opportunities presented by decarbonisation.
The full day programme offers a combination of engaging panel discussions, keynote speeches and real-world case studies with sessions on topics including energy infrastructure; an overview of Government programmes; warehousing and buildings; policy and regulatory readiness; low carbon fuels and fleet electrification as well as Mr Opperman's session on "A changing political landscape: The way ahead for your business as net zero collides with consensus, politics and pitfalls." Also speaking at the conference will be Logistics UK's Head of Decarbonisation Policy Lamech Solomon who commented, "As decarbonisation shifts from ambition to execution, logistics businesses face pivotal choices that will shape their future. Opperman served in the government of four Prime Ministers between 2012-2024 including as Minister for Transport and Logistics in Rishi Sunak's government from 2023-2024. As a Minister, Opperman passed legislation committing the UK to achieving net zero by 2050. Since leaving politics he acts as a consultant and advisor to multiple countries and organisations.
