ForFarmers chooses Prometeon to supply and maintain tyres across its 160-strong HGV fleet

Prometeon Tyre Group, a leading company in the development, production and marketing of tyres for the commercial, agricultural and OTR sectors, has secured a new contract with leading animal feed manufacturer ForFarmers UK, to supply and maintain all tyres across the company's nationwide fleet of 160 HGVs. The deal - agreed on a fixed PPK (price per kilometre) basis - covers ForFarmers' diverse fleet of bulk and bag delivery vehicles, which together clock up an estimated 16 million kilometres annually transporting feed to farms across the country. ForFarmers, part of the Dutch-owned ForFarmers N.V., operates eight compound mill manufacturing sites across the UK, with sites as far reaching asExeter (Devon), Portbury (Bristol), Newcastle under Lyme (Staffordshire), and Penrith (Cumbria)

As one of the UK's largest feed companies, ForFarmers plays a vital role in supplying farmers nationwide with complete feed solutions for ruminants, pig and poultry. It's mission, "For the Future of Farming", is centred around a commitment towards achieveing a sustainable agricultural industry, working together with farmers and supporting a healthy long-term future  of British agriculture. Smooth transition and service levels

Commenting on the new contract, Naeve Brown, Business Improvement and Indirect Procurement Director at ForFarmers UK, said: "The appointment of Prometeon has gone extremely smoothly. Prior to the switch, representatives from Prometeon visited each of our sites together with the service providers, which really helped get everything set up properly and ensured our teams felt supported. We've had very positive feedback on service levels from across the business, which was a key priority for us."

Efficiency gains from the right tyres on the right vehicles   With vehicles delivering direct to farms, ForFarmers requires tyres suitable for both long-distance road transport and rough farm terrain. "It's vital we have the right tyres on the right vehicles for the right jobs," added Brown. "Prometeon's expertise has already helped us make improvements.

For example, highlighting where we didn't have the most efficient tyres fitted. That support is delivering real efficiency gains."

Improved compliance and visibility A further benefit for ForFarmers has been the enhanced visibility provided by Prometeon's tyre management portal which offers real-time reporting on tyre health, inspections, and maintenance. "The portal has been a real step forward for us," Brown explained. "We now have clear inspection reports and action lists that make compliance much easier to manage.

The dashboard is very user-friendly so our transport managers can quickly access the information they need. It gives us real peace of mind." Sustainability focus

The return to a PPK contract has been a welcome move from a business aspect, it also supports ForFarmers' sustainability ambitions. "With PPK, it's in both our interest and Prometeon's to maximise tyre life through repairs and proactive management, rather than defaulting to replacements. This helps us to be more sustainable as well as cost-efficient." Commenting on the contract win, Wayne Bell, National Fleet Account Manager at Prometeon Tyre Group, said: "We're delighted to welcome ForFarmers on board and proud to be supporting such an important business within the agricultural sector.

The size and complexity of their fleet means it was essential that the transition went smoothly.

I'm pleased our team was able to deliver on that.

We look forward to working closely with ForFarmers to keep the fleet running safely, efficiently and sustainably."
