Emergency services have closed the M6 to the north of Preston. A full closure is reported is being in place between Junction 32 and Junction 33 in both directions. The closure is understood to be close to a motorway bridge at Barnacre.

Traffic England lists a 'police incident' as ongoing and it began shortly after 9.30pm. Motorists are being diverted onto the A6 and traffic on the motorway is being held. Delays are expected until around 11pm on Saturday (6 September).
