National Rail Awards 2025: every winner from this year’s ‘Railway Oscars’

More than 1,000 people turned out for the annual National Rail Awards on September 17. The 'Railway Oscars' ceremony took place at London's prestigious JW Marriott Grosvenor House in Park Lane, London, with 21 categories up for grabs. The awards where hosted by Nina Hossain who anchors the ITV Lunchtime News and News at Ten.

RAIL Editor Dickon Ross said the night "remains the best night of the year for those who love and work in rail and want to celebrate the best it has to offer".
The winning and highly commended entries of the 2025 National Rail Awards were:
Innovation of the Year
Winner: Rail-Ability - Road rail ballast undercutter. Highly Commended: Network Rail & Railscape - Innovative AI and drone technology revolutionising OLE records. Highly Commended: Transmission Dynamics with Angel Trains and Network Rail - PANDAS-V: Eliminating overhead line failures with AI powered intervention.
Accessibility Achievement of the Year
Winner: Merseyrail, The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority & Stadler - Transformational New Fleet: Introduction of a publicly owned, co-designed fleet.
Highly Commended: Northern Trains in partnership with Community Rail Lancashire - Try the Train.
Infrastructure Achievement of the Year
Winner: Story Contracting, Network Rail & Pell Frischmann - Browney Curve Embankment Stabilisation Project. Highly Commended: BAM Nuttall & Network Rail - Agar Grove Overbridge Reconstruction. Highly Commended: Network Rail - National SCADA Programme.
Outstanding Teamwork Award
Winner: VolkerFitzpatrick - Radlett SRFI phase one.
