Woman and man arrested after Skoda Kodiaq in 100mph chase

The county's police force say the pair are in custody after a police pursuit along the A1 motorway on Tuesday morning (August 19). A police spokesman said: "In the early hours North Yorkshire Police officers moved in to intercept a Skoda Kodiaq car which had been reported stolen. "The car was spotted heading south on the A1(M) at about 12.45am.
"The driver did not stop, rammed police vehicles, and reached speeds well over 100mph. The car left the motorway at junction 42 near Selby, before being driven the wrong way down a slip road. However, before it could go any further, a police car was able to make tactical contact with it, bringing it to a stop.
"A 19-year-old woman was arrested at the scene, and a 19-year-old man was arrested nearby a short time later. "Both were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and failing to stop. The woman was further arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and drug driving.
They are being held in custody as our enquiries continue."
