PJB Glass Partners with Alltruck plc to Accelerate National Growth

Alltruck plc is proud to announce a strategic partnership with PJB Glass, highlighting the company's commitment to delivering scalable end to end logistics solutions for UK businesses aiming to expand their reach. East Midlands based PJB Glass has chosen Alltruck plc's all-inclusive Distribution service to support its expansion across the UK. Offering a bespoke fleet, dedicated drivers, and complete operational support including compliance, insurance and training, Alltruck is helping PJB focus on what they do best, manufacturing high quality glass products.

"We liked Keith's personable approach to the whole thing," said Luke Barrell, Managing Director of PJB Glass. "He wasn't just trying to sell us a package, he genuinely believed in what he was offering." What began as a short-term rental agreement has grown into a full distribution solution. Tim Underwood, Alltruck's Sales Business Development Manager, identified early opportunities to support PJB's ambitions, leading to a fleet configuration tailored for glass transport.

"Initially a short-term rental customer, Tim Underwood, our Sales Business Development Manager saw an opportunity to support their business growth with Alltruck's extended services. They progressed through Contract Hire and into Distribution and were really satisfied with our customer service throughout," said Keith Pound, Operations Director of Alltruck plc. Custom vehicle specifications include a sliding roof lorry and a van with an external frail designed to safely carry large sheets of glass.

These enhancements emerged from close collaboration with PJB and a commitment to technical listening. "It started with listening. We understood their need to use cranes for unloading, which is why we introduced the sliding roof.

We also specified a frail on their 3.5t LCV panel van to accommodate large sheets of glass. Our solutions were shaped by their feedback," said Keith. Beyond vehicles, the partnership addresses key operational issues.

"Driver retention, training, and fuel efficiency were key challenges," noted Keith. "Our expertise in managing and training drivers really made a difference there." "PJB were focused heavily on transport legislation and compliance, which was pulling attention away from their core, manufacturing glass. That's where Alltruck stepped in.

We take that burden off our customers so they can focus on what they do best," he added. Seamless onboarding and responsive customer support have reinforced the success of the collaboration. "Alltruck were prompt to respond and dealt with everything raised," said Luke. "The relationship with the team has been strong, everyone's made themselves available and taken time to understand our needs.

Special mention to Ian, who just cracks on and sorts everything before we even knew there was an issue." The partnership engaged every part of Alltruck's operation, from short term rental to bespoke vehicle builds. Keith explains, "It began with Tim, then Keith, Ian, Dave, Finance, HR (including TUPE), and the Bodyshop for bespoke builds.

Monthly reporting keeps everything on track, and the photoshoot at head office gave PJB a chance to meet the wider team behind the scenes." Looking ahead, both companies see the collaboration as part of a long-term development plan. "As we expand and grow, we need partners who can help us achieve that goal," said Luke. "Alltruck has a strong team culture and the flexibility we were looking for."

"This is part of our wider strategy to grow our Distribution offer," Keith added. "Our knowledge of the glass transport industry, across both contract hire and distribution, sets us apart.

PJB's journey with us shows how a short-term rental relationship can evolve into a full-service distribution partnership."

"They're great to work with, open minded, values led people," Keith said. "It's a pleasure doing business with them."
