There were severe delays on the M6 after a motorcyclist was reportedly involved in a crash. Emergency services were called to the scene of what witness reports indicate was a one-vehicle crash on the M6 northbound, involving a motorbike, at around 11am on Saturday (16 August). The severity of the incident is not yet clear and Blog Preston has contacted Lancashire Constabulary for more information.

There was severe congestion on the M6 northbound between junction 31 and 29 as a result of the crash and Traffic England warned it would last until around 2pm. Traffic was queuing from junction 31 back to junction 29 for Bamber Bridge. There were also continued delays on the M6 between junction 28 and 27[8] on the northbound carriageway as a result of emergency carriageway repairs taking place after an early morning crash.

Lancashire Police confirmed one motorcyclist had minor injuries after the crash. Subscribe: Keep in touch directly with the latest headlines from Blog Preston, join our WhatsApp channel[9] and subscribe for our twice-a-week email newsletter[10]. Both free and direct to your phone and inbox.
