Introducing the eDELIVER 75 from MAXUS

MAXUS is entering the 7.5-tonne GVW electric vehicle sector in the UK, with the new eDELIVER 75 targeting a market on the cusp of widespread electrification. It is MAXUS UK's intention to further drive and support the shift in commercial fleet operations, as businesses seek cleaner, more efficient solutions to meet tightening emissions regulations. MAXUS UK's move is underpinned by a robust aftersales infrastructure and an established dealer network with HGV capability, ensuring seamless integration and ongoing support for operators.
By aligning technical innovation with proven support and carefully timed market entry, MAXUS is positioning the eDELIVER 75 as the go-to electric solution for both existing van customers and new medium-duty operators navigating the pivot to zero emissions.
Strategic timing The launch of the eDELIVER 75 represents a calculated move into a segment showing clear signs of electric adoption. With competitor manufacturers presently launching light-to-medium electric products, MAXUS has identified a critical window to establish market leadership with a technically superior offering.
"Timing aligns with the natural evolution of the existing MAXUS customer base," said Ross Davies, MAXUS UK Sales Director, "many of whom operate mixed truck and van fleets spanning distribution centres and final-mile operations. This integrated approach positions the eDELIVER 75 as a seamless addition to existing MAXUS models rather than a standalone product requiring new customer acquisition." Sales and marketing
MAXUS UK's go-to-market strategy leverages existing customer relationships while expanding into new segments. The immediate opportunity lies with current van customers who wish to integrate a 7.5-tonne solution into mixed fleet operations, providing operational continuity and simplified supplier relationships. Simultaneously, MAXUS UK intends to target both medium-duty and heavy-duty operators already running diesel-powered 7.5-tonne fleets, positioning the eDELIVER 75 as their gateway to zero-emission operations and net-zero compliance.
"We have the ability to directly plug-in our truck solution to all existing MAXUS van customers where the product is applicable and required," Davies explained. "Equally, we will approach dedicated truck operators that already run 7.5-tonne product, to deliver the full MAXUS experience while supporting their transition to net-zero. Our aspiration is nothing short of taking top spot on the podium in this 7.5-tonne EV segment." Comprehensive aftersales
The eDELIVER 75 from MAXUS enters the 7.5-tonne market with a significant advantage; an established aftersales infrastructure and dealer network already supporting its van and pickup customers. Moreover, many existing MAXUS dealers already possess market-leading HGV expertise through partnerships with major HGV truck brands, providing immediate technical competency for the new vehicle. Large fleet support is delivered through the dealer network with the added support of a dedicated vehicle off-road (VOR) team at the MAXUS UK headquarters in Liverpool, designed to maximise uptime - a critical issue for truck operators.
This capability is backed by Harris Group's extensive experience and MAXUS UK's centralised national parts logistics centre, also in Liverpool, as well as a centralised warranty and training academy in Dublin. The MAXUS total cost of ownership for the eDELIVER 75 extends beyond initial purchase price to encompass reduced servicing requirements throughout the vehicle lifecycle. Battery electric powertrains typically require significantly less maintenance than equivalent diesel-powered products, with fewer moving parts, no oil changes and reduced brake wear through regenerative braking systems.
Rationale: market evolution and decarbonisation focus The 7.5-tonne segment occupies a unique position in commercial vehicle decarbonisation strategies. While representing a smaller volume compared to other segments within the overall truck market, 7.5-tonne operations serve critical urban distribution roles where clean-air zones and decarbonisation requirements are increasingly stringent.
Development of the eDELIVER 75 has been informed by comprehensive market research conducted over two years, investigating segment requirements, customer operations and legal requirements for EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval compliance in the UK market. The decision to launch with full GSR II compliance from day one ensures regulatory future-proofing and protects both manufacturer and dealer network investments in parts supply, technical support and training. "We believe the 7.5-tonne would always be regarded as a 'niche' when you assess the overall truck market," Davies acknowledged. "However, it's precisely this segment that's prime for mass decarbonisation.
The routes these vehicles typically travel -through cities and towns across the UK where clean air zones and related demands for decarbonisation are taking hold - make them ideal." "The segment's importance extends beyond private sector adoption, with a significant proportion of the public sector subject to ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Mandates, which drive electric adoption.
For us, the strategic value extends beyond pure market share.
We can serve certain customers across their entire fleet, from van to 7.5-tonne truck, which is a USP for some." Davies said.
