Lorry and car crash on major Cambridgeshire A-road

A car and lorry have crashed on a major Cambridgeshire A-road. Emergency services are at the scene of a crash this afternoon (Friday, June 13) on the A1 at Brampton Hut. The crash, which involved a car and lorry, was first reported at 11.24am. Cambridgeshire[1] Police, Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue and the East of England Ambulance Service are all at the scene.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 11.24am today with reports of a collision on the A1 at Brampton Hut, involving a car and a lorry. Officers, firefighters and paramedics are currently at the scene and the entire roundabout has been closed while the incident is dealt with, causing delays in the area and traffic to be diverted through Huntingdon[2]." Officers have also told drivers to "avoid the area".

The whole roundabout is closed while emergency services deal with the incident. The traffic monitoring site Inrix says: "A141 closed, slow traffic due to accident at the A1 (Brampton Hut). Congestion to traffic coming out of Huntingdon.

On the roundabout." To get more breaking news and top stories delivered directly to your phone, join our new WhatsApp community.
