Bespoke IVECO S-Way CNG is a true ‘Force of Nature’

The launch of the IVECO S-Way 500 CNG 6x2 in partnership with Astra Vehicle Technologies delivered a truck the market had been waiting for... A vehicle capable of 44 tonnes GVW with CO2 reductions of up to 95% versus an equivalent diesel model, all without compromise - a landmark moment for CNG. Making its debut at the 2025 Road Transport Expo, a bespoke IVECO CNG truck highlights how this new 6x2 is a true force of nature.

The aerodynamic bodywork - featuring drag-busting MirrorCam - of this IVECO S-Way 500 CNG plays host to an unapologetic hand-painted design that symbolises the disruptive spirit of this alternatively-fuelled vehicle. Created to strike a chord with true truck enthusiasts, it is a display of how natural gas trucks can appeal to enthusiasts and fleet managersalike. Beneath the vivid green splashes and glossy black exterior beats the heart of the most powerful CNG truck on the market.

Its cutting-edge xCursor 13 engine produces an unrivalled 500hp, enabling true multi-mission capabilities all while dramatically reducing emissions. Its eight CNG tanks are positioned within the chassis to allow for maximum trailer lengthswhile storing enough biomethane to cover in excess of 500km - something alluded to via its eye-catching personalised registration - X8 CNG. This truck's unmistakable attitude carries through and into the interior with unique features such as contrasting embroidery and design elements, heavy use of Alcantra, bespoke bedding, as well as generous levels of matt black surfacing.

However, the addition of optional rear storage cupboards reinforces that this vehicle features plenty of substance to go with its rebellious style. Furthermore, its customisable digital driver's display and 10-inch infotainment system host the same rich graphics and impressive functionality found across the new Way range. Beyond delivering dramatic CO2 savings, the IVECO S-Way 500 CNG 6x2 this truck is based on is a true TCO champion for operators.

Aerodynamic MirrorCams not only boost visibility beyond traditional mirrors, but also deliver a fuel-saving benefit of up to 1.5% thanks to reduced drag. The new High Performance Engine brake is now 30% more effective and is capable of substituting the retarder in most mission scenarios, granting better efficiency. Additional savings are yielded from the advanced Predictive Cruise Control that utilises topographical data to optimise vehicle running and eco tyres with low rolling resistance.

Mike Cutts said: "The reduction in emissions across fleets is a serious business, and so this statement-making vehicle represents much more than a bespoke show truck. Underpinning this vehicle is the same unmatched IVECO S-Way CNG 6x2 that is revolutionising renewable fleet capabilities. It's a product we are proud of, and clearly one that is worthy of an attention-grabbing persona."

Designed and developed in secret, the one-off IVECO S-Way CNG 'Force of Nature' isn't the only star of the IVECO stand (B32) at the 2025 Road Transport Expo.

In addition to this attention-grabbing vehicle, other headlines include the UK public debut of the all-electric IVECO S-eWay, the eDaily 'Box Clever' equipped with an ePTO-powered VR truck racing simulator, Eurocargo CNG, X-Way, as well as the flagship IVECO S-Way 580.
