Motorists heading to Preston on the M65 are being warned of a motorway closure. The M65 has been closed between Junction 3 (Hoghton) and Junction 2 (for the M61 at Walton Summit) since around 3am. Both lanes are closed and Traffic England is reporting the closure will last until around 10am.

The M65 closure is due to a crash. A police spokesperson said: "The carriageway is still closed this morning whilst repairs are carried out following a crash. "Many thanks for your patience."
