M6 Junction 31 lorry crash sees two lanes shut and major delays

There are delays of more than an hour due to a lorry crash on the M6. National Highways North West had closed two lanes of the northbound M6 carriageway between Junction 31 and Junction 31A.
The crash involves a lorry which is in the inside two lanes. Read more: Preston's constant M6 gridlock and whether there is any solution[9] Traffic England is showing delays back to Junction 29 for Bamber Bridge and also traffic delayed back to the M61 spur road.
The crash took place shortly before 12noon and delays are expected until mid-afternoon on Tuesday (8 April). National Highways North West said all lanes were re-opened shortly after 12.30pm but long delays remain. A spokesperson for Preston Police confirmed the lorry crash is understood to be 'damage-only'.
