Turners (Soham) Ltd is first to field entire New Gen DAF range

Turners (Soham) Ltd has become one of the first UK operators to take delivery of models from DAF's entire truck range. From the compact XB to the long-haul XG+, Turners now has the full DAF line-up in its fleet, highlighting just how varied their operations are.

The Cambridgeshire-based company runs a huge range of transport services, covering everything from temperature-controlled haulage to bulk, container, tanker and fuel distribution. DAF trucks are at the heart of their fleet, with more than 600 New Generation models already in service and another big batch set to arrive in 2025.

The latest arrivals come equipped with DAF's new Corner View system, which replaces the kerb-view mirror and, according to Turners, "delivers a significant safety benefit".

Turners has a massive 2600 trucks across its different divisions, with DAF making up over 60% of that total.

All their DAF vehicles are supplied by Chassis Cab, a family-run dealer based in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk.

They're also Europe's largest operator of DAF's lightweight 6x2 FTP mid-lift tractor - currently the New Generation XF 450 -with more than 200 of them in the fleet.

Turners has been running this axle configuration since 2003 and has had more than 1200 of them over the years.

They even played a key role in DAF's pre-production testing, giving real-world feedback before the latest models officially hit the road.

Group fleet engineer Tim King summed it up: "I think we're unique in being the only fleet operator to run the complete DAF New Generation range, demonstrating how important the DAF marque is in our fleet."
