Renault Trucks T High Turbo Compound Boosts Myers Transport Fleet Efficiency

Myers Transport has unveiled the Renault Trucks T High Turbo Compound as the latest addition to its fleet. The Aylesford-based company reports that the new vehicle is delivering an impressive 11 miles per gallon (mpg), setting new benchmarks in fuel efficiency and operational cost savings. The new truck, supplied by Renault Truck Commercials, is part of Myers Transport's core operation, which involves hauling continental ferry trailers across the UK.

Tony Myers, Managing Director of Myers Transport, said: "This is the first Turbo Compound on our fleet, and we're seeing an average of 11 mpg from it, which is a game changer for our business." He also highlighted that the company operates 10 Renault Trucks T520 Highs, which have proven economical, but the Turbo Compound is taking efficiency to a new level. Fuel efficiency is a critical priority for Myers Transport. Customer expectations play a big role in driving the company's commitment to greener operations. "Until we're confident enough to go electric, this is the next best step," Myers added.

The Renault Trucks T High Turbo Compound is equipped with the DE13 TC engine, delivering optimal performance through Turbo Compound technology. This setup increases torque for enhanced responsiveness while solutions like Smart Torque Control and Optivision gear shift strategies maximise fuel savings. Drivers have praised the new truck for its comfort and reliability.

Myers believes customers will also appreciate its high standard and dependability. The T High Turbo Compound is set to become a key part of the company's 58-tractor unit fleet. "Driver acceptability, reliability, and fuel efficiency make the T High an excellent choice," said Myers. "We're excited to see the impact this truck will have on our operations."
