Woodland Group Adds 46 DAF XF Trucks in Asset Alliance Leasing Deal
The Woodland Group has introduced 46 DAF XF trucks into its fleet under a new leasing deal with Asset Alliance Group. This marks the company's first move away from outright purchase, opting instead for a three-year operating lease to balance costs and bolster fleet efficiency. Paul Eve, Head of Fleet Management at Woodland Group, explained: "We traditionally buy our trucks outright, but this time we factored in borrowing costs, customer needs, and the robust DAF dealer network for roadside support.
Asset Alliance Group's competitive commercial deal made the decision straightforward, especially with three years of repair and maintenance included." The new DAF XF 480 trucks are equipped to meet the updated Direct Vision Standard and feature 360-degree cloud-recordable cameras. This enhances safety for drivers and other road users.
Each vehicle prioritises driver comfort with the Executive Pack, including uprated beds, air-suspended seats, and interior LED lighting - a key feature aimed at retaining drivers. The trucks, a mix of replacements and new additions, will support Woodland's recent business wins. Thirty-two units feature a dedicated customer livery and will operate out of Barnsley.
All trucks will run on hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO), reinforcing Woodland Group's sustainability initiatives. Switching to DAF for the first time from an exclusively Mercedes-Benz fleet, Woodland ensured a seamless transition. Asset Alliance Group facilitated DAF-run driver training sessions to maximise vehicle performance and ensure incentivised drivers can continue delivering top results.
Paul Wright, Sales Director for Commercial Vehicle Leasing at Asset Alliance Group, highlighted: "It's been hugely satisfying to work with Woodland Group and deliver these excellent trucks on time to support their growth." Woodland Group operates a mixed fleet of 180 tractor units, along with rigids and vans, supported by over 400 trailers. Serving sectors including packaging, print media, and construction, the company provides nationwide transport and distribution solutions.
