McPhersons tips a glass to new MAN TGS fleet

McPhersons of Aberlour, Banffshire has just added six brand-new MAN TGS tractor units to its fleet. These are the first trucks sporting the company's new Cobalt Blue livery.

All six trucks are spec'd as TGS 26.480 6x2s with TM cabs and mid-lift axles. At 2240 mm wide, the TM cab comes with two bunks, plenty of storage and easy cross-cab access.

Under the hood, they're powered by MAN's Euro 6E-compliant 12.4-litre D26 engines delivering 480 bhp.

McPhersons plays a key role in the whisky industry, handling everything from transporting grain and malt to moving bulk spirits to bottling plants.

Scott McPherson, director at McPherson Ltd, said: "Our customers expect top quality, and that extends to the vehicles delivering their goods.

"These new MANs are modern, eco-friendly and support our sustainability goals. Depending on their routes, they'll run on HVO or diesel. HVO is a great option - it doesn't mess with servicing or warranties and cuts CO2 emissions by 90%."

"MAN Trucks have been part of our business for 50 years, so we trust them," he added. "They're reliable, efficient and our drivers love the comfort they offer.

Driving is a tough job, so giving them the best tools is really important."

Safety is a big deal at McPhersons, so these trucks come loaded with tech like Electronic Braking System (EBS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Change Support (LCS), Active Brake Assist (ABS), Anti-Slip Control (ASC), ESP and more.

They also have blind-spot cameras and ADR compliance for added safety and convenience.

McPhersons runs 150 vehicles and 500 specialised trailers from 35 sites across Scotland and Northern England.

Another 15 trucks of similar spec are set to join the fleet in 2025.

The trucks were prepped by MAN's partner, Elgin Truck & Van Centre, and will be serviced by MAN's dealer network throughout their lifespan.
