Les Searle Group Upgrades Workshop with Totalkare Installation
Les Searle Group has enhanced its in-house repair and maintenance capabilities by collaborating with Totalkare for a workshop upgrade aimed at optimising fleet maintenance. The upgrade includes a new 10-metre inspection pit built from pre-fabricated steel in the Midlands, equipped with a side-access tunnel, pit jack, oil drainer, and safety rails, improving both safety and efficiency for maintenance personnel. Totalkare has also integrated several advanced diagnostic tools into the workshop.
Key among these is the DVSA-approved TK70 in-ground brake tester, which allows precise analysis of brake performance, facilitating quick issue identification and ensuring vehicle compliance. Additionally, in-ground shaker plates, which simulate real driving conditions, enable Les Searle Group to identify and address suspension and steering issues before they impact vehicle performance, effectively reducing unexpected breakdowns. The installation includes a 2500 headlamp tester to verify and adjust headlamp alignment and brightness, helping the fleet meet regulatory standards and improving road safety for large vehicles.
This addition ensures optimal visibility, a crucial factor in annual vehicle safety tests. Les Searle, Managing Director, expressed satisfaction with the installation, noting the quality and functionality of the equipment as instrumental in reducing downtime and enhancing fleet safety. “These tools are crucial for maintaining our fleet and underpin our ability to serve our customers,” Searle stated. Totalkare’s Project Manager, James Atkins, highlighted the precision and reliability of the equipment, emphasising Totalkare’s commitment to delivering tailored solutions for clients.
He added, “This equipment streamlines diagnostics and reduces operational disruptions, exemplifying our dedication to excellence.”
This partnership reflects Les Searle Group’s commitment to safe and efficient operations, marking a significant step in fleet maintenance advancements.
