Boyd Haulage adds T520 High to the herd

Based in Swatragh, Northern Ireland, Boyd Haulage Limited has expanded its fleet with a Renault T520 High 6×2, supplied by Diamond Trucks’ Matthew Keys. Selected for its high specification and prompt delivery within budget, the new vehicle will support Boyd Haulage’s livestock transport operations, which require careful manoeuvrability and strict animal welfare standards. Outfitted with a Pezzaioli animal transporter body and paired with a tri-axle drawbar trailer, the T520 High is designed for safe livestock handling.

Its rear lift and steer axle enhances farm access, while full air suspension provides smoother travel, benefiting both animal comfort and vehicle stability. According to Adrian Boyd, Director at Boyd Haulage, Diamond Trucks’ expertise in rural and agricultural needs has been invaluable, with Keys offering reliable service that met both timing and financial requirements. The T520 High is powered by a 13-litre Renault engine that produces 520 hp and 2550 Nm torque.

Efficiency features include a 12-speed Optidriver AT 2612 gearbox, automatic clutch, and fuel-saving modes, such as FUEL ECO and ECO Cruise with Optiroll. For ongoing monitoring, a two-year subscription to Optifleet Check provides fuel consumption data, supporting Boyd’s commitment to economical and eco-friendly operations. Externally, the truck boasts a bold red metallic paint finish, customised with matching bumper corners and roof-mounted twin air horns.

The registration plate–featuring “COW”–reflects Boyd Haulage’s livestock focus. Inside, the cab is outfitted for driver comfort with a memory foam mattress, air suspension, heated seat, leather steering wheel, and modern conveniences like a microwave, fridge, and 7″ multimedia touchscreen. Boyd highlighted that both appearance and performance have earned positive feedback, with drivers especially pleased by the vehicle’s comfort.

Adrian Boyd commented that the T520 High’s reliability and advanced specifications allow Boyd Haulage to continue delivering premium livestock transport services.
