Minister to Share Views on Sustainable Transport at Seminar

Ireland’s freight and logistics businesses must implement key operational changes if the industry is to achieve the government’s target of net zero emissions by 2050, according to membership association FTA Ireland. But with such an ambitious target, how are businesses across the sector to achieve the government-mandated goal, at a time when operational costs continue to rise? Minister of State James Lawless TD has been named as the keynote speaker at FTA Ireland’s Sustainable Transport Seminar, which will return on 17 October 2024 at Johnstown House Hotel.

And as FTA Ireland’s Chief Executive Aidan Flynn explains, the event will provide operators with an opportunity to ask questions of the government, as well as learning from other key industry experts and networking with other industry representatives: “Decarbonisation is the biggest challenge facing our industry,” he explains, “but there is still much to be confirmed and much to be implemented by both industry and government if our sector’s net zero ambitions are to be realised. The Sustainable Transport Seminar is the ideal opportunity for operators of all sizes to come together, learn about and debate the issues which will affect our industry for years to come, as well as identifying ways for us all to achieve our common goal of a net zero future.

Operators of all sizes cannot afford to miss it!” In addition to the Minister’s address, the packed agenda at the one-day event will include expert briefings on issues including road safety, sustainable operations, greenhouse gas calculations and fleet operational compliance. Sponsored by ENPROVA, Brigade Electronics, Certa Ireland and Scania, the event will also see the launch of FTA Ireland’s well respected Manager’s Guide to Distribution Costs report.

Attendance at the event costs EUR200 + VAT for FTAI members, or EUR285 + VAT for non-FTAI members. To book your place visit  https://ftai.ie/event/sustainable-transport-seminar/ or phone 01 8447516.
