Guide to Hiswa te Water electric boats exhibitors 2024
The 39th edition of the Hiswa te Water boat show takes place August 28 – September 1, with an impressive lineup of electric boat and motor exhibitors. Below is thePlugboats guide to some of the e-boat highlights you can expect to find. HISWA is the association of the Netherlands marine industry and te Water means ‘in-water’.
Since 2018 the show has been held at the Bataviahaven in Lelystad, Netherlands, and it is now the largest in-water boat show in Northern Europe. This year there will be 440 exhibitors in all, that include (on the electric side of things) 29 exhibitors of powerboats, motors, sailboats, e-foiling boards, batteries and more. While the focus is naturally on the Dutch companies, This edition features exhibitors from 17 different countries and five continents for the first time.
Electric Sailing Pavilion
One of the new additions for this year is the floating Electric Sailing Pavilion, with an information stand hosted by the Dutch Coalition for Sustainable Sailing – de Coalitie Duurzaam Varen.
The coalition is made up of leaders in the Dutch electric boat industry, including:
- De Stille Boot – dealer for Torqeedo, BlueNav hybrid systems, WaterWorld motors as well as various solar panel and accessory manufacturers
- E-Werf – specializing in converting traditionally powered boats to electric propulsion
- Impacd Boats – who make sloops through 3D printing from recycled material
- Robust – Dutch dealer of electric aluminum and HDPE boats and motor systems from ePropulsion
- Combi – the Dutch manufacturer of electric outboard, inboards and pod motors
The aim of the coalition is to promote the transition to sustainable shipping and to work together to reduce emissions from recreational boating, passenger shipping and professional shipping and to improve air and water quality. They are working on solutions such as smart charging infrastructure, shared boats and replaceable batteries.
HISWA Boat of the Year Awards
One of the highlights of the show is the Boat of the Year competition. A jury of water sports journalists and nautical experts nominate nine boats in all, three yachts in each of three categories: Sailing Boats, Powerboats and Sloops and Tenders.
These yachts are test sailed the weekend before the show, with the winners being announced on August 27, 2024, the evening before the opening of Hiswa te Water. The Netherlands have always been one of the leading countries for electric boating, but it is still remarkable that of the 9 boats nominated, 7 are either electric or hybrid, including all 3 nominees in the Sloops and Tenders category.
Sailing Yachts electric nominees
Beneteau Oceanis 37.1The 37 footer (11.3 m) is the eighth model in the Oceanic line of cruisers launched since 2017 and capitalizes on the innovations of all previous iterations. It is available with a 12 kW electric pod motor backed with 10 kilowatt-hour batteries and also offers eco-friendly solutions like an iroko slatted cockpit floor.
X-Yachts XC-47 
The XC-47 was an extremely popular boat at Boot Dusseldorf this past January, with more than 4,500 visitors coming to see the sleek, speedy unit sporting the cutting-edge Oceanvolt HighPower ServoProp electric motors.
X-Yachts, one of Denmark’s best known sailing yacht manufacturers, launched their first electric propulsion model, the X49E, in June of 2022 and Technical Manager John Morsing said he is not at all surprised about the popularity of the electric propulsion. “Electric propulsion opens a world of new opportunities for sailors, and I am sure our sales of electric models will accelerate rapidly in the coming years. We are working closely with Oceanvolt to offer a silent electric engine powered by a lithium battery bank that gives a range of 25 nm.

Motor Yachts? electric/hybrid nominees
Northman 1050 Trawler Electric The Northman 1050 Trawler Electric is designed to offer sustainable comfort with a well-designed living space cleverly combining with functional features.
The spacious outdoor area is complemented by large windows that offer a panoramic view from the interior. Foldable terraces extend the aft deck into a large bathing platform and open lounge to the water. Virtue V10
The Virtue V10 features the very efficient Petestep hull technology that uses V-shaped deflectors to reduce the ‘wetted surface’ of the hull – the amount in contact with the water – to reduce friction. It also redirects the boat spray down and to the stern of the boat, creating more ‘push’ that can result in up to 35% less energy required to propel the boat.
The Virtue can be ordered with ICE or electric outboard engines – from a single 175 kW up to twin 220 kW units.
Sloops and Tenders electric / hybrid nominees
Alumax RJ28 Alumax Boats designs and builds various models of aluminum boats including sloops, tenders and work boats. The 8 meter RJ28 is a weekender with a hybrid system that offers the ability to cruise silently through canals then switch to more powerful ICE inboard propulsion on open water. Santos One
Santos One is equipped with 5 kW or 11 kW Pod from RIM Drive Technology with a 10.4 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery (LiFePO4) that enables up to 8 hours of slow sailing. The company says “We have been developing and producing an e-tender sloop that is intended for people and companies that have high demands and consider sustainability just as important as appearance, build quality and sailing characteristics.
This means throwing traditions overboard and having the courage to take a completely different approach in order to introduce a truly sustainable offering.” Van Baerdt Docker e65 The Van Baerdt Jachtbouw (yacht builders) has specialized in electric boats since 2018, now offering the Docker e65 alongside their original model, the E800. Both have been designed to maximize the benefits of electric boating, using the pod motors from fellow Dutch company Waterworld.
Other electric boats exhibiting at HISWA te water
In addition to the Boat of the Year nominees, visitors to HISWA will be able to see electric / hybrid boats from a variety of manufacturers.
Boarncruiser will be presenting the ICE version of their Boarncruiser 44 Elegance, which is also available in hybrid propulsion with 10 kW electric motor continuously connected to the propeller shaft. The company says that it is possible to sail fully electrically for a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 8 hours. Delphia
Delphia has their Delphia 10 Lounge, Lounge Top and Sedan versions at the show to demonstrate their concept of mindful cruising: getting back to life’s simple pleasures that allow for connecting with others and reconnecting with yourself: a tranquil stroll, a picnic on the beach, a bike ride, catching up with friends and family over a cup of coffee (or glass of wine). At a speed of 12 kmh (6.5 kt / 7.5 mph) the Delphia 10 Lounge Top model can sail for 2 and 1/2 hours. At 6 kmh (3.2 kt / 3.7 mph) it offers an amazing autonomy of 18 hours and 114 km (61 nM / 70 mi)
De Stille Boot will have the largest selection of electric boats at the fair, with seven boats from five different boatbuilders:
- e-Qruiser 600+ from Qrafter Boats
- e-Qruiser 680+ from Qrafter Boats ( scoop)
- e-Qruiser 800+ from Qrafter Boats
- Robust 425 from Robust MT (first)
- Captain’s sloop 720 from Hettinga Jachtservice (first)
- Aqua24 615 from Anker Boats
- Timeless 25th of Amersfoort Maritime
GreenPower Boats will be showing their flagship GreenPower 33 Open, with a wave-piercing hydrofoil-supported hull that minimizes drag by over 50%. The result of five years of experimentation, it combines stability and efficiency to offer the ability of cruising at 20 knots, propelled by two high-end, closed-circuit water-cooled 80 kW continuous power electric motors.

There are also a variety of electric boat motor companies exhibiting at HISWA, some with booths of their own and others represented by dealers.
Boot4NL: ePropulsion, Torqeedo, Minnkota, Rhino
Boot4.nl was founded by Daan Kik and Thomas Jaques who had been active in the water sports industry for over ten years. They now have a marina, a workshop, showroom and online shop, specializing in electric boating with a range of motors from ePropulsion, Torqeedo, Minnkota, and Rhino.
They also sell RIB and polyethylene boats.
De Stille Boot: BlueNav, Torqeedo, WaterWorld
De Stille Boot has both the boats listed above and electric motors at the HISWA show, reflective of their long experience in electric boating and their philosophy of offering integrated solutions beyond just ‘adding an electric motor.’ They are dealers for Torqeedo, the WaterWorld brand engines and batteries with capacities of 4 – 20 kW and will be showing the unique BlueNav engines from France for the first time at the HISWA show. These are retractable and steerable ring-shaped engines particularly suitable as a hybrid drive for yachts and fast-moving sports boats.
Drinkwaard: ePropulsion
Drinkwaard Marine is another large dealer with more than 60 years of experience, a team of 20 specialists and extensive facilities and an online shop. Its physical site covers more than 10,000 square meters and offers an extensive showroom, workshop, indoor and outdoor storage facilities and 2 cranes.
It has a complete line of ePropulsion products including outboards, inboards, pods, batteries and accessories.
Fischer-Panda
Fischer Panda has manufactured electric and hybrid drive systems for houseboats, motor boats and yachts for almost 20 years and offers electric drives for cruising on waters where conventional combustion engines are not permitted, both for monohull and multihull boats with one or two drives.
Mercury
Mercury and its electric Avator motors will be represented with a corporate booth and also booths from various dealers: Watersport Paradise, Articboats, Beekman Watersport, Bomert Watersport, Kempers Watersport and Qualia Tenders.
Snoeck: Krautler, Stream
Snoeck Technical Solutions supplies complete electric drives for motorboats, sloops, sailboats, tour boats and ferries. They are the Benelux representative for Krautler electric motors (Germany) and the Stream electric outboards from Sweden. Stream was founded in 2020 and is already supplying motors to series production boats in Asia, Central Europe and the Nordic countries.
Stream offers three models: Stream 50 (38 kW), Stream 30 (23 kW) and Stream 15 (13 kW).
TEMO
TEMO produces a range of portable, lightweight electric motors for all types of small craft: dinghies, sailing boats, rowing boats. They have two models: the telescoping trigger throttle TEMO 450 and the transom quick mount TEMO.1000 with an innovative, ergonomic motor designed like a rudder blade. Both models combine motor, battery and controller in one unit.
VETUS
VETUS will have their e E-LINE at the show – a compact, complete, plug & play system suitable for new builds or re-powering.
It works the V-CAN bus system and uses the patented VETUS E-Drive motor controllers (MCVs) that feature an integrated step-up battery charger capable of charging a 48V lead-acid battery bank using a 24V power supply.
And, of course, electric foiling boards…
HISWA te Water will be featuring demonstrations of all kinds of e-foiling boards and water toys in the ‘Fun Parc’ area, with boards from Awake, Fliteboard, Lampuga, Radinn, Waveshark and Waydoo.
