Prohire invests in new vehicles and mobile technicians

Prohire has invested in new recruits and vehicles to expand its mobile technician service nationwide. Serving customers of Prohire and ProGreen, the company’s alternative fuels division, Anthony Lewis joins from Zenith’s mobile division to cover the north west and Andrew Bristow, previously a regional engineer for the Freight Transport Association (FTA), now Logistics UK, will service the Birmingham motorway corridor. Based at Prohire’s depot in Tunbridge Wells, mobile technicians Harry Timberlake and Andrew Goss will provide support to customers in London and the south.

The technicians will operate from new, fully equipped, mobile workshop vehicles. Each vehicle, including one electric vehicle (EV), which will cover London, is equipped to a high specification with racking, work-benching, diagnostic equipment and tools. All four vehicles have been fitted with telematics.

The systems provide remote fault diagnosis, tracking, accident detection and driver behaviour analysis, allowing Prohire to monitor the vehicles, deliver optimum performance and report on CO2 savings. Gary Banister, fleet asset director at Prohire, said: “Our expansion from fixed vehicle maintenance units is part of Prohire’s national strategy to increase the mobile support on offer for our customers across the country.

“Since we introduced mobile technicians at our Tunbridge Wells depot, vehicle up-time has increased, and customer feedback has been positive. “It’s also led to building stronger relationships on-site with fleet managers. We’re delighted to roll this service out to support our customers nationwide.”

He added: “Expanding our mobile technicians service enables us to take control of the customer experience, manage costs more efficiently and also invest in people by creating these new roles, with more to come in the future.

“It’s great to add another EV to our fleet as part of our commitment to leading the charge as the UK’s most trusted provider of sustainable vehicle hire.”

Headquartered in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, and employing more than 90 people, Prohire provides nationwide commercial vehicle rental and long-term vehicle contract hire, together with fleet maintenance, accident repair management, and fleet compliance to customers across the UK.
