Major Scots motorway shut down in both directions due to ‘ongoing police incident’

DRIVERS are facing major delays after a 'police incident' closed a stretch of a busy Scots motorway in both directions. Huge tailbacks were reported on the southbound section of the M77 in Glasgow[1] tonight.

Cars have been stuck in traffic[2] since shortly before 7pm after the police[3] incident. The nature of the incident is currently unclear.

However, the stretch of the motorway is closed at junction 2 near Silverburn Shopping[4] Centre. Traffic Scotland alerted drivers to the crash this evening with a post on X, formerly known as Twitter[5].
