A diversion route will cut through Watford after an overturned HGV forced the M25 to close.
After previously reporting that the M25 was blocked by the large vehicle overturning, National Highways confirmed at 10.32am that the anti-clockwise carriageway has been closed between junction 20 and junction 18.
The following diversion route was therefore put in place, which includes using the Dome roundabout.
Exit the M25 at J20, take the 1st exit on to the A41
At the next roundabout, take the 1st exit continuing on the A41 towards Watford
At the Dome roundabout, take the exit on to the A412 (St Albans Road)
Travel on the A412 towards Rickmansworth
At the roundabout with the A404, take the 2nd exit on to A404 (Chorleywood Road)
Travel along this road and rejoin the M25 at J18
Past the scene, traffic has been released in one lane.
The motorway is expected to clear between 1.15pm and 1.30pm, with normal traffic expected from 2.15pm.
The M25 anti-clockwise exit slip at junction 19 is also currently closed. Herts Police, traffic officers, Herts Fire and Rescue, and recovery are at the scene.
