Major Scots motorway CLOSED after lorry bursts into flames near airport as smoke causes chaos for drivers
A MAJOR Scots motorway was shut down this morning after a lorry burst into flames near an airport.
The M8 eastbound was closed at Junction 2 near Edinburgh[1] Airport[2] while emergency crews tackled the blaze.

Motorists were being asked to find an alternative route.
Cops[3] said smoke affected vision in the area.
There is currently a 50-minute delay following the blaze.

“Traffic is heavy in the area. Approximate 50-minute delay back from Junction 3.”
Police Scotland said earlier: “The M8 eastbound is currently closed at Junction 2 near Newbridge due to a lorry on fire.
“Emergency services are in attendance and motorists are asked to find an alternative route.”
It comes weeks after a lorry “exploded” and caught fire[4] on the A9 near Auchterarder.
