Drivers warned as major Scots motorways set for closures for TWO weeks

SCOTS drivers have been warned of motorway closures lasting two weeks.

Transport Scotland[1] is undertaking essential resurfacing of the M74 to M77 westbound.

The work, which will cover approximately 1,419 metres of the road, will take place in two phases

Motorists will face disruption between Monday 16 September and Friday 27 September between 8pm and 6am.

Traffic[2] will be diverted via Carnoustie Street to Scotland Street, Glasgow[3] and Seaward Street and directed to turn left on Paisley Road West to join the M8 via the Junction 24 on-slip.

Traffic wishing to use the M8 westbound Junction 21 on-slip at Seaward Street will be diverted via Seaward Street to Paisley Road West to join the M8 via the Junction 24 on-slip.

A spokesman said: “This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition and safety of the carriageway surface and reducing the need for future maintenance in this location.”
