A PENSIONER has died after being hit by an HGV in a horror crash in a Scots town.
The elderly man, 79, was struck on Main Street in Callander, Perthshire[1], this morning.

Emergency crews were scrambled to the accident at the junction with Bridge Street as the alarm was raised around 11am.
Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 49-year-old man driving the HGV was not injured in the crash.
Members of the public who stopped to help after the crash have been thanked by police.
Traffic cops[2] have launched a probe into the tragedy.
Officers have urged anyone with information to come forward to help their investigation[3].
Any drivers in the area who have dashcam[4] footage have been urged to call police[5].
Inspector Andrew Thomson said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“Enquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone who has not already spoken to officers and can assist with our investigation to get in touch.
“I am keen for drivers who have dashcam footage that captures the vehicle or the pedestrian involved prior to the collision[6] happening to contact us.
“I would like to extend my thanks to the members of the public who stopped and provided assistance.”
