A PENSIONER has died after being hit by an HGV in a horror crash in a Scots town. The elderly man, 79, was struck on Main Street in Callander, Perthshire[1], this morning.

Emergency crews were scrambled to the accident at the junction with Bridge Street as the alarm was raised around 11am. Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 49-year-old man driving the HGV was not injured in the crash. Members of the public who stopped to help after the crash have been thanked by police.
