Three-vehicle crash shuts motorway in Hertfordshire causing Easter Sunday delays
A three-vehicle crash shut a motorway in Hertfordshire[1], causing delays of more than an hour on Easter Sunday.
The Northbound M1 was closed between junction 8 (for Hemel Hempstead) and junction 9 (for Flamstead) from shortly before midday until around 12.35pm (April 5).
At 12.10pm, National Highways confirmed frontline teams were on the scene to manage the incident and traffic was being held.

Information on the status of those involved in the crash has not been shared at this time.
Herts Police have been contacted for more information.
Delays were down to around 5 minutes compared with normal traffic by 2.15pm after congestion eased through the afternoon.
