M6 traffic LIVE as all lanes blocked after crash

The M6 motorway saw all traffic held tonight (Sunday March 8) after a crash. Traffic services were reporting emergency services had blocked all lanes on the southbound carriageway between junction 28 and junction 27 following the accident. Photos showed cars stuck in long queues tonight.

Travel service Inrix said at the time: "All traffic being temporarily held due to accident on M6 Southbound between J28 B5256 Leyland Way (Leyland) and J27 A5209 Crow Orchard Road (Standish)." The collision is reported to have happened just before 9.30pm. Just before 10pm, travel services have said: "Held traffic released, accident cleared on M6 Southbound between J28 B5256 Leyland Way (Leyland) and J27 A5209 Crow Orchard Road (Standish)."
