M53 live updates as ‘serious collision’ shuts motorway near Birkenhead

A "police incident" has brought traffic to a complete standstill on the M53 near Upton on Sunday, March 22 afternoon. All traffic is temporarily held in both directions on the M53 at J2A A5027 Upton By Pass (Upton) following an incident. Merseyside Police are at the scene, traffic management system INRIX reported.
