Cheshire West and Chester announces Tarvin day ticket prices

Cheshire West and Chester Council is introducing the Tarvin Traveller, a multi-operator ticket that allows passengers to travel on both Stagecoach and D&G bus services (routes 82 and 84) between any bus stop from Tarvin to Chester Bus Interchange. It will start on Sunday, March 15. Now bus users travelling between Tarvin and Chester and stops in-between can use their 'Tarvin Traveller' bus ticket on any Stagecoach or D&G bus.

A spokesman said: "Bus users don't have to worry whether they have the right ticket - just jump on the next 82 or 84 bus. "Funded by the UK Government through the Council's Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) the ticket is part of a one-year pilot aimed at making bus travel easier for everyone to understand, more affordable and more attractive as a regular travel choice. The Tarvin Traveller offers simple and consistent pricing across both services between Tarvin and Chester at GBP4 for adults and GBP3 for under-19 for a one day ticket and GBP12/19 respectively for a seven-day ticket.

The new paper ticket removes the need for passengers to purchase separate tickets on these services, making journeys more flexible, offering more customer choice, potentially reducing journey times, and reducing uncertainty at the bus stop. OTHER NEWS: Councillor Karen Shore, council deputy leader and cabinet member for transport and highways, said: "We want to make it as easy as possible for people to choose the bus.

"The Tarvin Traveller allows customers travelling between Tarvin and Chester (and vice versa) to use either operator of the two services, using one simple ticket, this brings together two operators, providing a seamless and affordable way to travel between Tarvin and Chester. "This pilot will help us understand how flexible, integrated tickets can support residents, encourage bus use and reduce congestion and carbon emissions. "We will closely track the service's progress so we can investigate potential roll-out across the borough."

The council is encouraging residents, students, workers and visitors to take advantage of the new ticket, whether for commuting, education, shopping, leisure or accessing local services.

The Tarvin Traveller is available on Service 82 and 84 from March 15 forming a key part of the Council's wider Bus Service Improvement Plan Delivery to improve and simplify public transport across the borough.
