Car caught fire on M4 at Cardiff heading towards Newport

Firefighters were called to reports of a vehicle fire on the eastbound M4 at just after 8am. South Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Cardiff Central and Whitchurch attended the incident at junction 32. One lane was closed on the motorway as the firefighters managed the incident[1], however the car was destroyed in the fire.

"South Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 8.01am this morning to a car fire on the M4 eastbound at junction 32.

"Crews from Cardiff Central and Whitchurch attended, using hose reel jets, breathing apparatus and breaking in tools to manage the incident.

"The car was destroyed by the fire."
