Woman taken to hospital after M62 incident

Police confirmed the woman fell from a bridge near junction 5 of the motorway at Bowring Park, Merseyside. The incident led to the closure of motorway from junction 5 to junction 7 at Rainhill. Police and an air ambulance were reportedly at the scene.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We can confirm we received a report that a woman had fallen from a bridge on Junction 5 of the M62 in Roby. "The incident was reported at around 3.30pm today (Sunday, February 22) and emergency services, Merseyside Police, and North West Ambulance Service, attended the scene. "A woman in her 50s has been taken to hospital via air ambulance in a serious condition.

Junctions five to seven of the M62 was closed during the incident and has since been reopened."
