Lorry fire on A1 at Sprucefield

Traffic has been diverted due to a lorry fire on the A1 towards Lisburn[1], police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A1 at Sprucefield at around 4.27pm, with the incident initially causing travel disruption for Lisburn[2] bound traffic.

Police have advised the Sprucefield Roundabout has been closed, with traffic for Lisburn being directed towards Hillsborough, and slip lane traffic towards Belfast.

Trafficwatch[5] cameras show traffic is flowing well despite the incident.

Images from the scene show clouds of dark smoke billowing across the dual carriageway, with the Northern Ireland Fire Service[6] in attendance as debris from the lorry is scattered across the road.
