This is the reckless moment a driver goes the wrong way down the motorway in a bid to avoid paying the M6 toll.

Jordan Sneddon, 28, performed a U-turn in his black MG before driving the wrong way down the carriage into oncoming traffic.

Concerned motorists then rang the police after seeing him hurtling past them toavoid paying the GBP6.40 toll.

Sneddon drove the wrong way down the south carriageway for around six miles before leaving the toll road near Burntwood, Staffordshire.

Dashcam footage then shows police chasing Sneddon who hit speeds of 90mph in a 30mph zone.

After refusing to pull over, Sneddon ran through a red light before crashing into a roundabout.

He continued to flee from the police but his car then came to a stop due to the damage it had sustained.

During his arrest, he declined to take a breathalyser test.
