M62 traffic live updates as motorway closed after crash near The Rocket

Part of the M62 is closed this morning after a crash. Traffic monitoring service Inrix reported at 6.35am this morning that the M62 westbound, heading into Liverpool, was closed from junction five, by Roby Road in Huyton, to the A5080 at Bowring Park Road, by The Rocket in Broad Green, due to an accident. A force incident manager for Merseyside Police[1] has confirmed to the ECHO officers are at the scene after a two vehicle crash[2] and are working[3] to reopen the carriageway[4] on one of the main routes into Liverpool.

Inrix says traffic[5] is "heavier than normal". Google[6] Maps is also reporting slow traffic on Roby Road[7], where drivers are having to turn off the motorway.
