Live M6 traffic updates as crash causes severe delays

The M6 has been brought to a standstill following a crash on Tuesday. Three lanes have been blocked on the northbound carriageway following the accident this afternoon (February 10). According to traffic alert site Inrix, the crash took place[1] between junction 20, near the Lymm Interchange and junction 21, near Manchester Road, Woolston.

CCTV footage of the motorway shows heavy traffic building northbound on the Thelwall Viaduct. The crash was first reported shortly after 4pm. National Highways said delays are currently 50 minutes above profiled journey time.

Inrix said: "Three lanes blocked and severe delays due to accident on M6 Thelwall Viaduct Northbound between J20 M56 J9 (Lymm Interchange) and J21 A57 Manchester Road (Woolston)."
