EC President wades into heavy haulage policy hold-ups

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has called for an end to the 'gold-plating' of federal regulations holding back heavy road freight reforms, highlighting the '4-tonne gap' between Belgium and France.

Speaking at the Antwerp European Industry Summit, von der Leyen laid out[1] some of the logistical barriers that are continuing to delay vital policy overhauls for the heavy haulage and freight sectors.
