Richard Ellithorne Joins UK Warehousing Association
The UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) has appointed Richard Ellithorne as Head of Commercial, a new role created to drive recruitment, enhance membership services and expand the Association's market leading training offering. Richard brings nearly twenty years of extensive senior management experience working for membership organisations, including the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH), the Builders Merchant Federation (BMF), the Road Haulage Association (RHA) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport UK (CILT UK), focusing on managing and promoting membership and developing training services. He has also held business development, operational and project management roles with major logistics companies and latterly worked as a consultant.
Commenting on his ambitions for UKWA, Richard said: "As Head of Commercial at UKWA my vision is to help deliver on business priorities. I'm looking forward to re-engaging with the logistics sector, which is where I started my career. I really enjoy working for membership organisations, and as part of the UKWA team will be involved with growing membership, and increasing training and commercial income, as well as helping to raise the profile of the sector and its importance in the supply chain and to the UK economy." UKWA CEO Clare Bottle added: "We are delighted to welcome Richard to UKWA.
His new role completes a strong management team, spearheading membership activities and complementing operations, policy and communications, and events management.
His wide experience in membership organisations and his expertise in training will be vital assets in taking UKWA - and particularly our training programme - to a new level."
