M62 live traffic updates as motorway ‘blocked’ after crash

Traffic is building on the M62 this morning. Live traffic cameras show long queues near junction six at Tarbock heading towards Rainhill. It's reported[1] there has been an accident, causing traffic to build on a small section of the M57[2] too at junction one.

Traffic[3] monitoring service Inrix said at 7.06am: "M62 eastbound partially blocked, slow traffic due to an accident from junction six at M57 junction one (Tarbock Island) to junction seven A57 Warrington Road (Rainhill Stoops)." Live data from Google[4] and National Highways shows there is around seven miles[5] of traffic. The ECHO[6] has approached Merseyside Police for more information.
