M53 live updates as crash closes motorway

Part of the M53 has been closed following a crash this evening. Traffic is currently being held on the M53 northbound between junction five at New Chester Road and junction four at Bebington. Traffic monitoring site Inrix reports: "M53 Northbound closed, queueing traffic due to accident between J5 A41 New Chester Road (Eastham) and J4 A5137 Brimstage Road (Bebington)."

Drivers using the motorway have reported traffic is at a "standstill".
