M4 traffic builds near Swindon as ‘crash’ blocks motorway
The westbound carriageway of the M4 has been partially blocked by an incident between Swindon and Hungerford, according to traffic monitoring services like the AA and INRIX. A crash reportedly took place shortly before 3.30pm on Saturday, January 3, and has been causing delays heading towards junction 15 at Swindon. Suggested reading
Traffic[1] cameras have shown long, slow-moving queues building during the afternoon between Baydon and Lambourn Woodlands.
At around 4.30pm, traffic had begun to ease, however significant delays to journey times were still being reported by the AA's traffic monitoring service.
It said: "Partially blocked and slow traffic due to crash on M4 westbound from junction 14 (A338, Hungerford) to junction 15 (A419 Marlborough Road, Swindon East)."
