Live M60 traffic updates as car bursts into flames

A car has burst into flames on the M60 near Tameside this afternoon (Tuesday, January 20). Long delays are being reported following the incident which occurred anticlockwise on the motorway between junction 24 and junction 23. Pictures from the scene show the burnt vehicle parked up on the hard shoulder a queuing traffic begins to build.

Another image shows fire fighters on the scene dealing with the motor blaze.

There are reports of 20-minute delays on the M60.
