Live: M4 blocked near Swindon as lorry overturns in crash

A lorry crashed and overturned on the M4 in Wiltshire. Motorists travelling westbound faced half-hour delays approaching Swindon following the collision this evening (Wednesday, January 14). Traffic-monitoring site Inrix reported: "Queueing traffic and one lane closed due to overturned lorry on M4 Westbound before J15 A419 Marlborough Road (Swindon East)."

National Highways wrote on X shortly before 7pm: "Lane 1 (of 3) closed on the #M4 westbound between J14 #Hungerford and J15 #Swindon due to an overturned lorry. "There are delays of at least 30 minutes on the approach. Please take care on the approach."

Two lanes were later closed as the lorry was recovered, before Inrix said the M4 was clear at around 9.30pm.
