M6 closed after Seat Ibiza driver U-turned and fled police

Police received a report of a car driving erratically on the southbound carriageway between J33 and J32. Officers attended and requested the vehicle, a Seat Ibiza, to stop, but it failed to do so, performed a U-turn, and drove north on the southbound side. In order to prevent the vehicle travelling any further, a police vehicle made tactical contact with the Seat to bring it to a stop.

Nobody suffered any serious injuries.

The driver, a 26-year-old man from Ashford, Kent, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous dricing and remains in custody.
