LIVE M6, M62 and M602 crashes cause major delays across motorways
There are reports of long delays on THREE motorways this morning following separate incidents. The M6, M62 and M602 have all been affected. Traffic is building up on the M602 following an incident that occurred from Gilda Brook Road, near Trafford[1] Park and Eccles[2], to the Regent Road Roundabout in Eccles.
Traffic monitoring tool, Inrix, says: "M602 Eastbound partially blocked, long delays due to accident from J2 A576 Gilda Brook Road (Trafford Park / Eccles) to J3 A57 Regent Road (Regent Road Roundabout). Congestion to J1 (Eccles Interchange)." Elsewhere, two lanes have been closed on the M6 following an incident between the Winwick Link Road near Newton[3] Le Willows, and the East Lancs Road, near Haydock.
Inrix also says, "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M6 Northbound from J22 A49 Winwick Link Road (Newton Le Willows) to J23 A580 East Lancashire Road (Haydock)." The M62 has also been affected in Cheshire, with slow traffic due to a crash on the eastbound carriageway from junction 11 to junction 12, at the Eccles Interchange. This is a breaking news incident.
