Christmas shoppers warned as area of M77 near Silverburn to shut next week
Christmas[1] shoppers are being warned that an area of the motorway near Silverburn shopping centre is to close next week. Amey, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, is to carry out works on the M77[2] southbound at Junction 2. Bosses say that the on-slip and a single lane will be shut from 10pm on Tuesday, December 16, until 6am on Wednesday.
Traffic wishing to use the Junction 2 southbound on-slip will be diverted via Fairchild Avenue to join the M77 northbound, continue to the Junction 1 off-slip and follow Dumbreck Road to join the southbound M77 at Junction 1.
Amey has warned that all scheduled works are subject to weather conditions and may be postponed or rescheduled should the weather prove unfavourable.
Once complete, the works are expected to improve the safety and overall condition of the carriageway in the area.
